The “Beginner’s Guide to the Philippine Indie Music Scene” is an ebook for you if you’re about to dip your toes into the wonderful world of indie music in the Philippines. It can be overwhelming especially if you’re new to this scene.
I’ve gotten questions and e-mails from people asking about which bands to follow, where to find gigs, and what to expect at their first gig, so I thought what better way than to collate these answers into one ebook! That way, you don’t have to worry about researching these things anymore. They’re all in one place.
Over the last few years, it seems as if the Philippine indie music scene is getting more popular. There are gigs almost every night. Local radio stations play more indie music during peak hours. Indie musicians don’t only play at international music festivals, but even headline in local arenas. It’s awesome to see how much the music scene is thriving lately!
I wrote about what you can expect at your first gig, a list of indie musicians to check out as well as a list of gig venues, concert producers and music sites to follow to find gigs. I touched a little bit about music photographers, documenting your moments in music in one place as well as the indie music community in the Philippines.
I want to make a disclaimer here: if you’re active in the scene and have been for quite some time, then the information you will read in this ebook may not be new to you. You’re still welcome to download the ebook, and if you have any comments or suggestions about the ebook, do drop a comment below or send me an e-mail.
What I’ve listed in the ebook is in no way a complete list of all the bands, musicians, concert producers, music sites in the country.
This ebook is simply a tool for you to start your journey as you explore the indie music scene in the Philippines.
Please note that the ebook is free for a limited time only. After that, it’ll be up on the shop for a price.
