Band Feels Manila’s sticker sets and frames resonate with the enthusiast who loves to proclaim their love for music. The woman behind the artsy brand talks to Days in Wonderland about the natural evolution of BandFeels.
Can you tell us how BandFeels began?
It’s one of those spur of the moment decisions. I started drafting designs of stickers to place on my planner/journal and gifts to give to my friends then eventually I tried selling them online and I guess the rest is history. Haha!
If you were to sum up what BandFeels represents/stands for in a sentence or two, what would it be?
Band feels Manila the same way Manila feels bands.
Your business has grown immensely jumping to thousands of followers on social media in just a little over a year. Aside from your lovable artsy music stickers, what do you think makes BandFeels connect with fellow music lovers?
As much as possible, I release sticker sets for bands/artist I really listen to so I get what my fellow fans feel when they listen to the band or love towards the artist/band. Also, I’m a fellow music junkie as much as they are, so I guess that’s what establishes the connection between me and my followers 🙂
As a fellow music enthusiast, how does music help you grow as an individual?
As cheesy as it sounds, music has the power to instill in me values in more ways than one that I will forever be grateful for. It has been my companion through life; just like having a friend that would listen to all my ramblings and what not. What’s great about it is that I grew up not just with the music that I listen to, but with the bands themselves as well. It amazes me when I go through their discography and see how much they have grown and how much I have too!
Why did you decide to go with stickers and frames? Have you always had a fascination for stickers?
Yes, I always have—since I was in grade school. My fascination for colorful things to stick everywhere has been with me ever since, so I guess I’m never going to grow out of it. As for the frames, I thought of putting it out since I’ve always wanted a store to sell prints of band lyrics, since there wasn’t any (as far as I know), I decided to start one myself.
Can you give us a little preview of what’s in store for BandFeels this 2015?
Everything’s still written on water but I’m trying to involve different music enthusiasts together to start a collective of some sort, I want to expand BandFeels for it to be beyond what it already is.
