Switchfoot has been to Manila twice before, but this is my first time seeing them live: from being a listener, performing their songs in school to finally watching their electrifying performance feels like everything’s come in full circle.
Yesterday I heard a beautiful message: If you come across a song you feel was written just for you–those moments when the lyrics describe exactly what you are going through–it’s God’s way of talking to you. Upon hearing this, I instantly thought of the power of music and how Switchfoot’s music spreads hope and positivity.
During Switchfoot’s show, you could feel how happy they were performing for their Filipino fans. They wore grins on their faces all throughout. Switchfoot definitely knows how to put on an unforgettable show. Their energy was electrifying. Jon Foreman climbed the metal stage pillars, sung with the crowd, and jumped twice from the drum kit. They’ve been performing for years and are still bursting with energy.
The next day they shot a music video in Tondo, Manila for their upcoming 10th album and spent time with the community there. I love it when bands use their music as a beacon of hope and the members themselves are generous lads!
Thank you Church Simplified for organising this wonderful show.
Thank you Raffy, Rina and BJ for this opportunity!! I am forever grateful!!
